About Us
A School Built Around One Question
What kind of financial thinking do people in their forties and beyond actually need — and what's the most honest way to teach it?
Back to HomeOur Story
Founded in Bangkok With a Specific Gap in Mind
mekongined began in 2019 after its founders spent several years advising mid-career professionals in Thailand and noticing something consistent: many capable, thoughtful adults in their forties and fifties had very little structured knowledge about their own finances — not because they were careless, but because good, unbiased financial education for this life stage simply didn't exist in an accessible form.
The response at the time — from banks, fund houses, and certification programmes — was either too product-oriented or designed for much younger professionals starting from scratch. There was no place to go if you wanted a quiet, careful look at where you stood and what your realistic options were.
That's the gap mekongined was built to address. We operate out of our office on Charoen Krung Road in Bangkok's Bang Kho Laem district — a neighbourhood with a long history of trade and commerce — and we welcome learners from across Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region.
Our Mission
Clear Thinking, Without the Pressure
Our mission is simple: help adults in the second half of their working and retirement years develop a more considered relationship with their money. We don't sell financial products. We don't hold certifications over people's heads. We teach.
Everything we do is built around the idea that financial understanding, like most things worth having, takes time to build. Our courses move at a pace that allows for reflection. Our cohorts are small enough that questions are welcomed, not managed. And our instructors come from backgrounds in financial advising and adult education — not sales.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
No Product Sales, Ever
Instructors and advisors receive no commissions from financial products. Every recommendation exists only to serve your learning.
Qualified Teaching Staff
All instructors hold recognised Thai or international financial qualifications and are reviewed annually by an external academic committee.
Personal Data Protection
We handle learner data in compliance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Financial details shared in consultation are never disclosed to cohort members.
Curriculum Review Cycle
Course materials are reviewed and updated each quarter to reflect changes in Thai tax law, SEC regulations, and available investment instruments.
Cohort Confidentiality
All participants agree to a cohort confidentiality commitment before joining. What's shared within the group stays within the group.
Transparent Pricing
Course fees are published clearly. There are no hidden add-ons, upsells, or continuation packages bundled into enrollment.
Our Approach
Financial Literacy as a Long-Term Practice
Thai adults who reach their forties today face a financial landscape that differs considerably from the one their parents navigated. Longer life expectancies, evolving pension structures, a wider range of investment vehicles, and shifting estate planning considerations all demand a more active and informed engagement with personal finances than previous generations typically needed.
At mekongined, our work draws on the recognition that financial knowledge isn't absorbed in a weekend seminar or through a single consultation. It develops over time, through repeated engagement with real concepts and personal circumstances. Our structured cohort model is deliberately designed to give that process the space it needs, with instructors who teach rather than sell, and a community of peers who are working through similar questions at a similar stage of life.
